Officials in Sacramento County are investigating a violent incident that erupted on April 18 2026 at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade area at the moment deputies were clearing an unauthorized event of a crowd of several hundred.
Before the Gunfire
Sacramento County law enforcement initially responded to Howe Park just after 6:30 Saturday evening after learning of people potentially armed with concealed firearms. Soon after, a follow-up call was made about a reported physical confrontation breaking out inside the park.
Aerial units searched from above but could not confirm any ongoing fight. Despite this, it became clear that a crowd of several hundred had gathered without authorization without authorization.

Physical Evidence

Suspect Information
Details gathered over police scanner frequencies showed that a Kia connected to the shooting had been detained in the Solano County area. Four occupants were detained. Sheriff's units were en route to collect those detained to return them to Sacramento for processing in Sacramento County.
